Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures praised by both men and women alike.

It stimulates the production of new skin cells and collagen.

Less aggressive than laser, it is a non- surgical treatment which does not require an anaesthetic.

How Diamond Microdermabrasion Works?

Diamond Microdermabrasion, unlike the Crystal kind, does not carry the risk of tiny particles of crystals getting into the mouth or eyes. In this type of treatment, dead skin cells are exfoliated and vacuumed from the face with a microdermabrasion machine, which uses various sized diamond heads, allowing the treatment of all target areas, even around the eyes and mouth. Furthermore, this procedure is known to be most effective on deep acne scars or old stretch marks.

The diamond head, together with the strong suction, makes it possible to exfoliate the skin more thoroughly than with other procedures. With the flexibility of using different suction levels, blood flow is increased to the skin, which in turn helps to produce collagen.

This treatment has been used in Europe for many years but now this exciting procedure is available to help men and women in Torbay experience remarkable improvements to their skin. If you are looking for fast, reliable treatment for skin issues like wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, uneven skin tone and stretch marks you should consider getting this procedure.

How soon will I see results?

You will notice an immediate improvement after your first treatment. Your skin will have a fresh, pink glow and smoother texture. Improvements continue throughout your treatment program.

Who should consider Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is perfect for almost all skin types and for anyone interested in minimising the appearance of:

Scarring
Fine lines
Pigmentation problems

Uneven skin tones
Dull, lifeless and sun-damaged skin

Microdermabrasion is not recommended for patients who have been taking a medication called Roaccutane within the past six months because there is a risk of creating scarring or injury.

If you have recently had wrinkle relaxing or dermal filler treatment it may be necessary to delay the start of your Diamond microdermabrasion program for approximately 3 weeks.

Also, because there is a risk that microdermabrasion may stimulate a new outbreak, patients who have a history of herpes simplex (cold sores) around their lips should consider taking an oral antiviral medication before undergoing microdermabrasion.

What should i do after my treatment?

Following Diamond Microdermabrasion treatment you may experience some skin peeling therefore we recommend a daily use of moisturiser and sun protection . Microdermabrasion is a non invasive treatment so there is no downtime, you resume your daily activities immediately.

It is recommended you avoid sun exposure at least 24 hours. Also, because your outer layer of skin has been exfoliated you may experience some redness and the treated area may be a little sensitive

Microdermabrasion treatment includes a serum that is delivered to the deeper layers of epidermis using an ultrasound device and coming algae face mask.
